The university is committed to making our roads, sidewalks, and paths safe for all modes of transportation. In support of this commitment and in line with the One University Framework Plan to further develop a pedestrian-friendly campus core, we all must Honor the new North and South Oval Walk Zone. Cyclists, skateboarders, and similar devices are required to dismount and walk through this zone.
Safety between pedestrians, bicycles and motor vehicles is the responsibility of all students, faculty, staff and visitors. By law, bicycles are vehicles and like motorist, cyclists must obey all traffic laws. One-way streets, stop signs, riding on the right side of the road, and yielding to pedestrians are some of the requirements for bicycle operators. Remember: whether walking, biking, or driving, we all share the road and the responsibility.
